Fly Me To The Flyer.

I went onboard the famous Singapore Flyer like almost everyone did. The queue to the ticketing booth was rather long. The wait to our entry time was long. The queue to enter the capsule was long. And the whole 30mins in the capsule was long. Longer than any 30mins ever!

It was a great experience. But everything was just off-set by that 30min. The capsule I was in, was packed with all sorts of people. Loving young couple who kissed n hugged non-stop (disgusting), loving old couple who was so into photography (sweet), noisy family with elderly (noisy), complete family with kids holding onto books (weird), a Chinese couple who was so irritating (I mentioned irritating) etc... ...

Many times, I really kudos to the Singapore Government for having such smarty brains. They thought of this flyer that interests so many people, which in turn, boosts the SG economy. But yet, they did not think of the simplest thing, which is to build a speaker system in the capsule, that will introduce the views of SG as the flyer revolves. Big brains are for big things, I guess. Who cares about the lack of Geography in us? (OK, in me... ... )

As the thing revolved, I took loads of photos nonetheless. I enjoyed all the pretty views, and some of the muddy patches of the land. I went at the most appropriate time (the 6.30pm slot). I felt the heat as the sun went down, I witnessed the beautiful change of the sky... ... I smiled as I went up high into the sky... ...

It was really a different experience, whereby I paid the price for one to enter two.

But if you were to ask if I will be keen the next time round, the answer is a simple "NO".
